Time is flying by....

Wow - we are now down to 60 days till the show. Spring is busy - 3 soccer games on Saturdays and trying to get a few things done around home. Not much to post as far as pictures go - a few of what Marlin is painting - Ran out of paint for the LMR30. Mark's hood in the shed awaiting his finishing touches too. Guess we will have a red cast to Marlin's hand till all the painting is said and done.... Hope you are having a good week - with all our rain I am sure the grass will be needing attention sooner than the boys are ready! Take care and keep working on those projects!

Do you realize only 73 days till....

the annual Wheel Horse Show! Hard to believe but it will be here and gone before you know it. Received permission to post some additional information regarding the show that may be of interest -

The 10th Annual Wheel Horse Show on June 20 and 21, 2008 will be the biggest show ever and will be setting the standard for future shows! Cecil Pond and his wife will be attending along with the "Straight From the Horse's Mouth" author Michael Martino. The folks from Lawn and Garden Collector Magazine will be on hand to sell subscriptions and look for WheelHorses to do future articles on. We exspecting over 700 Wheel Horse tractors to exhibit from all parts of the United States, Canada and England! The featured tractor will be the 1968 model '500' SPECIAL which was a promotional tractor celebrating Wheel Horses involvment with the Indianapolis 500 race. The Wheel Horse Collectors Club will be raffling off a 1968 '500' SPECIAL! Bill Pearson has also been working with a lady gathering up a collection of photographs of Wheel Horse tractors that were used in the pits and also the Wheel Horses that participated in the famous Indy 2-1/2 mile race! Some of these pictures show the Indy race cars being pulled by Wheel Horse's and most of these have not been seen in public before. This set of Wheel Horse photographs will be raffled off at the show! The Wheel Horse tractor parade will be a one of kind this year because many Wheel Horse internet groups and clubs will be getting involved and showing their stuff! The Cruise Night on Friday night will be set up for some Kodak Picture Moments.
Camping at the South Mountian Fairgrounds is permited, there showers, restrooms and a church group will come in and cook food from 6:00am till 6:00pm. The fee for camping is only $20.00 for Thursday night and display set up starts at 9:00am Thursday June 19, 2008. There is lots of hotels in the Gettysburg area but reservations are highly recommended. There will be dash plaques given to all exhibitors and show "T" shirts and hats for sale.
Sounds like a little something for every Wheel Horse enthusiast - Fun stuff!
So wouldn't you love to have one of these in your collection - price is more than what I like to see a full size tractor coming home for .... yes, I am a bargain hunter.... Well, closing for now - hope to get some of the tractors off the enclosed porch soon into their own "stable" - just one of the many projects on Marlin's list. Take care all.

Happy Birthday Uncle Ralph !!!

Today was the celebration of Marlin's Uncle Ralph's 84th birthday! We joined family and friends in a surprise party for him this evening. He certainly seemed to enjoy himself. Cake had his picture on his D250 - looked terrific. Was a great evening visiting with everyone and enjoying some wonderful food. Going to re-post some pictures in honor of Uncle Ralph. This is his D250 from many angles. Remember you can click on a picture to enlarge detail.... Had to stick in one picture just for the fun of it all.....

Back to red....

So, I took a bunch of pictures at last years Wheel Horse Show but now realize that if I am going to blog I will need to take more - can't imagine - need to find a battery for the camera that will last. These are some pictures of our boys, niece, nephew and the youngest with his Pappy. A new generation to pass along to!

Consignment Sale and Spring Fling April 25-27 http://www.cvaema.org/index.htm in Chambersburg, PA. One the end of May is at Penns Cave www.nittanyantique.org/index.html.

A bit of green for St. Pat's Day...

How about a bit of green in honor of St. Patrick's Day ~ Marlin's good friend, Tim has built a half scale John Deere G unstyled on steel. Along side it is a half scale John Deere 70 Standard that Tim's brother Ben built. Both of these are working half scale tractors. Pictures are from last year's National John Deere show in New York. The "group" shot of the tractors includes the half scales and some of the tractors from their father's collection that they took up to the show. Even a horseman can appreciate fine talent!

That's it for the green celebration - later -

Back in the garage....

Raining all day today (better than snow - sorry Ohio) so thought would check back in with Marvin's garage. Still working on ???? what do you call it ~ will have to come up with a name for this "Heinz 57". Slow process especially with working full time at the real job. Marvin seems to be enjoying what time he can work on this newest project. Marlin grabbed some tools from his shed and headed over to Marvin's man cave - I mean garage. Hope they enjoy their afternoon and hope you all do too. Remember you can "click" on picture for that up close view...
.

Hope to have something different next weekend.... ~ Later, Lisa
