Home Sweet Home

Thoughts and prayers to those that are still on their journey home. We are happy to have the horses back in their shed and the trailer parked. Saturday was a made to order day - nice breeze and lots of sun with bearable temperatures. Alas, we did not bring home the 854 from the raffle - congratulations to the winner - what a treat it would be to win a tractor! Our dear friends from Ohio have survived their first Wheel Horse show - now it should be easier to have them come back for the next one ;-) Harold brought a few in from his vast collection - the Reo and A-111 (neither for sale)

.....

He had a third that was for sale and it was quickly snatched up before he could park the truck. Saw it for sale later in the day for more of course - good luck with that.... Lots of sales and trades going on hope everyone involved was satisfied with their deals.

All these pieces and parts combined with lots of effort and talent can (and do) end up to be true works of the heart.

So close :-)

Father's Day is winding down (Love you Dad!). One of the boys is asleep already - to much outside I guess.... The goofy cat is working on tearing yet another curtain (grrrrr) and I am thinking that by this time next week the show will just be another fun memory :-). It will be extra special this year since we have friends coming from Ohio to join us. Vacation time is ready and waiting for week end and plans are to get some of the horses washed off and ready for the show come Thursday. Weather forcast calling for a warmer weekend. Slight chance of scattered thunderstorms - the normal for summer.
Found a few pictures of Marlin's latest project which isn't getting too much attention these days. Hopefully come next year she will be ready for the show. Enjoy your week and see you next weekend. I will have to get to work on pictures to feed the blog.

Prayers to all for safe travel and a terrific weekend filled with stories, fellowship and perhaps a few deals.

Next Month

So how can time fly by so quickly? Next month will be the show. Wow, been busy here to say the least. My parents were in for the weekend with my Grandma - nice treat for all of us. The weekend goes so fast and they are heading back already. Marlin is working on seats for the show to sell. Hopefully all will come together for him. I made them a few years back but my machine did not like the heavy duty sewing requirement and it was with alot of grief until the task was accomplished. Marlin thinks he has a plan "b" in the works so here's hoping... Reminder to Harold and Elaine - we would LOVE for you to come over for the week, weekend, day whatever you can do - the guest room is ready! Dragging out some pictures from last years show to keep the fever burning.... Take care all!

Congratulations Matt & Penny

Wonderful news today - the birth of Isabella Grace - what a blessing to all! I got my "baby fix" today when I got to hold her for a little while - my babies are growing up too fast - miss the baby days but do enjoy where we are now too - Isabella is a beautiful baby and how thrilled her big brother is (not to mention the grandparents and Aunt). Soon enough she will be in the wagon of a horse :-) might be a little while but one day she will be there too...
How about a few horse pictures from the internet and I'll save the depths of my file pictures for another day. These are a few snow ones I have saved over the years - love the snowhorse - whoever had a terrific idea if it is yours - kudos! We just haven't had that much snow here to recreate our own yet... Hope you all stay warm ~ Lisa

Yada Yada Yada....

Two months? So what's up with that? Some people - yes, I have been a bad blogger but a busy Mom. Keeping everything going gets interesting at times as you all know. The camera situation is now over - I purchased the same re-furbished model at a fair price from Canon after a bit of frustration and a letter to the president of the company. I really do like their camera. So Anyway, Marlin has his tractors all put away for the winter. Blankets are covering ones that could possibly come in the path of wood for the stove - don't even want to "go there". A few are in the mini shed and he has made some room for a project - not sure what it is but I am sure there is one on the bench. Oh, did I mention that I think the Phillies mascot should ride a Wheel Horse - after all they are the right colors and Phillies get it - I know groan.... Perhaps tonight they will clinch the series! Back to the Wheel Horses ~ I have dug into the files and picked a few random pictures from the show in June - 4 months ago already! Not sure who is who (well a couple I know) but hope you find something to look at here.

We are due for a blast of cold this afternoon and the next few days so will be bringing in another load of wood (yes, careful not to get close to the sleeping horses). Hope you all have a great week. Will post in a more timely fashion.

Pictures from Chambersburg Show

So, this will prove that the memory card in a camera is still good even if the camera isn't..... Our son had a big whoops with my camera in the OUTHOUSE - think the worse senerio and you would be correct - somehow he fished the case (camera inside) out of the toliet dripping blue and who knows what else... I wanted to cry (camera was a few months old) I attempted to disinfect/wash the best I could. Needless to say he felt horrible but what is done is done. I felt so bad for him - he was just horrified... Anyway, life goes on and the camera card still works - here's the proof :-)

A few pictures too of the "confetti" amongst the horses - they get to come to this show too since it is local - perfect weekend weatherwise anyway - hope you are enjoying the last days of summer - our boys start school Monday - I am not ready for the summer to end but am ready for the normal routine to set in... Take care ~
